Redefining the Rules of Title — One Bold Move at a Time.

This week, Her.Collective is thrilled to shine the spotlight on Ashleigh Spruell, a dynamic force in the title insurance industry whose career spans more than 26 years of leadership, innovation, and authenticity.

Currently serving as a National Account Manager for First American Agency, Ashleigh’s expertise runs deep — from consultative sales and compliance to licensing, expansion strategy, and operational efficiencies. Based in Houston, Texas, she has built a career defined by curiosity, courage, and connection.

A Journey That Found Its Flow.

Ashleigh’s introduction to the title world began while finishing her undergraduate degree, working in the HR department of one of the “Big Four” underwriters. What began as a paid internship evolved into a full-fledged passion.

“I transitioned into sales and training escrow teams and clients on a new program called SureClose,” she recalls. “For its time in the early 2000s, it was advanced — giving clients online access to their transactions and even beta testing electronic closings.”

From that early taste of innovation, Ashleigh discovered her niche — consultative selling, technology, and relationship-building. Her career path led her across national sales, ABA structuring, and agency development, eventually helping launch underwriter expansion into the Texas market. Today, she continues her journey with First American, where her blend of expertise and empathy has made her a trusted leader and connector.

The Power of Feedback & Mentorship.

Throughout her career, Ashleigh has been guided by women — inside and outside the industry — who weren’t afraid to tell her the truth. “The most important kind of mentor,” she says, “is someone who gives you constructive feedback in a way you can lean into.”

Breaking Barriers in a Changing Industry.

Reflecting on her journey, Ashleigh notes the significant strides women have made in what was once a male-dominated field. “We’re seeing more women leading and owning title companies,” she says. “Is there room for growth? Absolutely. That’s why it’s so important that we support each other and mentor the next generation.”

Her advice to young women entering the field?

“Challenge the norm — and ask yourself, what if you were your best supporter instead of your biggest critic?”

Connection is Her Why.

For Ashleigh, the heart of her success lies in connection and community. “My clients have become lifelong friends, and it doesn’t feel like work,” she shares. “Each day, each trip, each deal — it’s a new adventure. My why is connection, community, self-growth, and most importantly, my daughter, Madeleine.”

Strength, Grit & Grace.

Ashleigh’s drive runs deep, shaped by her early years riding horses and showing hunter/jumpers. “The connection between humans and horses is remarkable,” she says. “It teaches you to trust yourself and another creature completely — something that’s stayed with me all my life.”

That blend of strength and trust shows up in her leadership. Her approach to handling challenging personalities? “We may not see eye to eye, but we can always find diplomatic ways to work together for a common goal.”

Leading by Example.

As the oldest of four sisters, and a role model to her daughter and nieces, Ashleigh carries a strong sense of responsibility to lead with grace and grit. “There’s always a seat at the table for other women to join, learn, and grow,” she says.

Outside of work, Ashleigh’s creative side flourishes. From interior and landscape design to discovering emerging chefs around the world, she’s a curator of beauty and experience.

And if you ask her about her most unforgettable moment? “Seeing Coldplay in Buenos Aires during their 2016 tour — in the pouring rain, no security, no set ending time. Just pure connection, creativity, and raw human emotion.”

Her Philosophy & Legacy.

Her guiding words: Challenge the norm.

And the legacy she hopes to leave behind? “She leaned in and created her seat at the table.” Ashleigh Spruell embodies what it means to be a Woman of Title — strong, visionary, and grounded in purpose.

“We have this one life to live — live it to the fullest. Show up as you are and be your biggest supporter and fan.”

Her.Collective proudly celebrates Ashleigh Spruell, a leader who continues to inspire others to show up fully, live boldly, and lead with heart.
