Her.Collective Friday Feature Lauren King: The Advocate Behind the Curtain of Title Insurance
Today’s Her.Collective Feature shines a unique spotlight on a remarkable woman whose influence is felt far beyond the closing table. In a world where legislation and land rights quietly shape the future of real estate, Lauren King stands out as a passionate advocate, skilled communicator, and trusted voice for the title insurance industry in Arizona. With persistence, purpose, and a deep understanding of policy, Lauren works tirelessly behind the scenes to protect and promote the work we all do—impacting not just regulations, but the professionals and families they serve. Lauren brings a unique—and crucial—voice to the women of title.
From Policy Rooms to Title Rooms: A Career with Purpose
Lauren’s journey into the title industry didn’t follow the traditional route of escrow desks and file stacks. Instead, she came through the doorway of policy and legislative affairs, where she quickly developed a reputation for being an articulate, passionate, and persuasive champion for the title community.
Working in Arizona, she has spent years helping lawmakers and decision-makers understand the nuances of title insurance, land use, and property rights. “My role is to ensure the people who shape policy understand how vital the title industry is to protecting consumers and ensuring clean, legal property ownership,” Lauren explains. “It’s not just about documents. It’s about security, access, and equity.”

Her work has involved everything from grassroots advocacy campaigns to legislative strategy and stakeholder education. “It’s often behind the curtain,” she says, “but it’s where change begins.”
Rooted in Arizona, Reaching Across the Industry
Based in Arizona, Lauren has worked tirelessly to connect professionals across the state—from industry veterans to up-and-coming leaders—around common causes. Through her work with the Land Title Association of Arizona, she’s helped modernize outdated regulations, strengthen consumer protections, and preserve the vital role of independent title agents.
Yet what stands out most is Lauren’s ability to bring people together. Whether organizing legislative visits at the State Capitol or mentoring new professionals at industry events, she’s always focused on building relationships.
“Collaboration is everything,” she says. “The best outcomes come when people sit at the same table, listen to each other, and work toward shared goals. And in title, that means everyone wins—agents, underwriters, lenders, and homeowners.”
A Champion for Women in Title
Lauren is not only a voice for the industry at large—she’s a fierce advocate for the women working within it. She recognizes that for many, especially those in smaller or rural communities, leadership opportunities aren’t always easy to come by. That’s why she pours energy into mentorship and elevating other women through her network and advocacy work.
“We need more women at the forefront—leading discussions, serving on boards, and shaping policy,” she says.

Lauren credits several mentors along the way for helping her find her own path—and now she’s paying it forward. Whether it’s preparing women to speak to legislators, guiding them through board involvement, or helping them find their voice in male-dominated rooms, Lauren leads with humility, warmth, and determination.
Advocacy With Heart: Her “Why”
For Lauren, advocacy isn’t just about rules and reforms—it’s about people. “At the end of every policy I advocate for is a family trying to buy a home,” she says. “It’s a title agent trying to do their job well. It’s a community growing safely and sustainably. That’s my why.”
She has a real respect for the role title insurance plays in society. “Most people don’t know what title insurance really is,” Lauren laughs. “But when something goes wrong, they suddenly understand how important it is.

Her proudest moments aren’t always the headline wins—they’re the quiet victories: helping prevent legislation that would have harmed small title agents, supporting access to continuing education, or ensuring new technologies are regulated fairly.
Strong Roots, Strong Voice
Whether working in the state capitol or at a conference table, she shows up with purpose and professionalism.
“Integrity is everything,” she says. “You can’t fake it. You have to live it, speak it, and stand by it—even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.”
She’s known for her poise under pressure, her ability to navigate high-stakes negotiations with grace, and her unshakable joy. “You have to love what you do,” she reflects. “And if you don’t—find a way to love the why behind it.”
Love for the Outdoors
Outside of her advocacy work, Lauren is grounded by her community, friends, and a deep
Love for the outdoors. Whether snowboarding in the San Juan Mountains, rafting the Colorado River or running in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, she’s happiest when she’s outside.
