Her Title Legacy in Grit, Grace, Heart—and always cowboy Boots.

A Candid Conversation with Shelly Rogers-Wiley of AmTrust National Title

This week in our Her. the Title Collective Spotlight Series, we’re honored to feature the authentic, resilient, and wildly inspiring Shelly Rogers-Wiley, Texas Agency Manager at AmTrust National Title Insurance. Based deep in the heart of Texas, Shelly is a powerhouse of industry knowledge, heartfelt leadership, and southern grit. Her journey into title was anything but traditional—and that’s exactly what makes it remarkable.

Rewriting Her Story.

Shelly’s journey into title insurance wasn’t planned—it was a pivot made from strength during a time of uncertainty. After 23 years of marriage, she found herself starting over. Working as a realtor at the time, she was faced with the financial unpredictability of the job and knew she needed a more stable foundation.

“I was scared,” she says candidly. “I needed something steady, something I could count on. I reached out to a friend in the title industry and asked if she thought I could make the leap. She said yes—and that yes changed my life.”

That leap turned into a career that has spanned both Texas and national agency operations, bringing with it a wealth of experience, insight, and leadership. Today, Shelly is known for her deep understanding of agency operations and her ability to guide others with authenticity and wisdom.

Guided by Women, Lifted by Mentorship.

Throughout her career, Shelly has encountered many strong women, but one mentor stands out: Suzanne Tinsley. “She’s been a huge part of my professional growth,” Shelly shares. “There’s something powerful about women who see your potential before you do—and then push you to rise into it.”

While Shelly acknowledges the incredible number of women working in title, she also recognizes a long-standing disparity in leadership. “It’s changing,” she says. “Slowly but surely, we’re starting to see more women take their place at the top. And I’ll keep pushing for that until it’s no longer something we have to talk about and it's become the norm.”

Leading with Grace and Grit.

Shelly’s approach to challenging people is rooted in empathy and emotional intelligence. “Aggression, in my opinion, is usually a mask. It often comes from fear or insecurity,” she says. “I try to turn those moments into quiet teaching opportunities—without making it obvious. When people are given understanding rather than confrontation, they tend to respond with growth.”

It’s this quiet strength—paired with a strong faith and a deeply rooted belief that everything happens for a reason—that keeps Shelly going. “The Lord is working on my behalf, always,” she says. “And my children, Brett and Kylie, and my husband Bob—they’re my fire. I’m stubborn, and that helps, too!”

Learning the Dance.

Shelly’s motivation is deeply personal. “After my divorce, I bought a house and a car by myself. I had never done that before. It was empowering, and I realized I could handle more than I ever imagined.” She compares life to a dance:

“Sometimes we glide through the steps, and sometimes it feels like trying to tango with no lessons. But each phase, each misstep, each twirl—it's all part of the rhythm. I want my children to understand that life isn’t about perfection—it’s about embracing every part of the dance.”

That same metaphor fuels the advice she gives younger women: Learn everything you can. “Understand the full scope—escrow, underwriting, compliance, operations—every corner of the business. The more you know, the more value you bring. You can’t lead what you don’t understand.”

A Village Full of Love, Laughter, and Animals.

Shelly’s life outside of work is full of love, laughter, and a small farm’s worth of furry and feathered friends. Married to Bob for almost nine years, she beams talking about their blended family—four kids, four dogs, two horses, 13 chickens, and one tortoise. “Bob humors me and my love of animals,” she laughs. Her dream? To one day open a refuge for unwanted animals—a sanctuary built on love, acceptance, and second chances. “And my mom lives with us in the country—we garden together. It’s a full, beautiful life.”

She’s also deeply passionate about adoption advocacy, working to dispel the stigma and spark more compassion around the topic. “It’s personal and powerful, and I want to be a voice for it.”

Her Word: Genuine.

If Shelly had to sum up her leadership style in one word, it would be genuine. “What you see is what you get,” she says. “I strive to be the same person in every room, in every situation. Transparency builds trust—and trust is everything in this business.”

Legacy in the Making.

When Shelly talks about her legacy, she doesn’t talk titles or accolades—she talks connection. “I want to be remembered as someone who brought people together—who connected ideas, resources, and hearts.”

Her favorite book? Raving Fans—a title she’s read repeatedly for its timeless lessons. Her go-to podcast? Among her favorites is Ryan Leak.

“His episode What ChatGPT Taught Me About Self-Awareness is a must-listen. It’s eye-opening and incredibly timely. Self-awareness is such a key to growth.”

Music, Memories, and the Soundtrack of Her Life.

Shelly’s first concert? The Osmond Brothers—with Donny—at the tender age of five. But her first real “big girl” concert was Bob Seger, and she still loves his music to this day. “Music has always been a big part of my life,” she says. “Certain songs take you right back to moments that shaped you.”

Final Thoughts from Shelly.

“I love the platform that Her provides. It’s a safe, empowering space where women can collaborate, be seen, and be heard. I’ve learned that women truly want to support each other—they just need a place and a voice. Her.Collective is that place.”

Thank you, Shelly, for being a genuine connector, a fierce advocate, and a shining example of what it means to lead with both courage and compassion. You are a Woman of Title we’re proud to celebrate!
